If you’re healthy you probably don’t realize how demoralizing it is to spend all day in a hospital gown

But now a new collaboration is designing fashionable hospital gowns to encourage sick teens that they’re not “just a hospital patient.” See how they react when they try their new robes on.

This is amazing! AMAZING. Chronic illness does its best to strip you of your dignity, your control, and your identity. This is a great example of how things that might seem trivial to a healthy person, can make all the difference in someones life.

Damage Control is a fictional construction company appearing in Marvel Comics, which specializes in repairing the property damage caused by conflicts between superheroes and supervillains.

I may be mixing up comics and cartoon canon but I’m 90% sure Damage Control was run by Nick Fury’s brother, too.

I would read the hell out of this.

Okay, Damage Control is one of my FAVORITE THINGS.

Why?

Because it involves this:

It’s an entire comic where the accounting department figures out that Doom, Super Villian, Despot, and Head of the Reed Richards Must Die club, has not actually been paying his bills.

And they send that dapper, charming individual in the suit there to COLLECT ON AN OVERDUE BILL.

There’s also a wonderful subplot about one of the account executives attempting to work through the loopholes of the Fantastic Four’s insurance documentation (the policy only covered the ORIGINAL members, not damage done by new members).

If you ever read a comic and thought “God, I feel bad for whoever has to clean that up,” you need to read Damage Control.

This. This is what I thought Agents of SHIELD would be about. Motherfucking badass bureaucrats.

When Doom pays that bill, he writes a check.

The accountant then asks Doom for ID.

I’m obsessed with these pictures of the Indianapolis Colts Cheerleaders wearing their real world professional work attire as their cheer uniforms

Some women are so weird with what being a feminist means. It’s this really weird judgement that in order to be feminist you have to do things a certain way. Ok, it’s not really feminism imo if you are judging women for their choices like that because it’s the ability to make those choices that was, imo, the core of the original movement.

Like, I changed my last name when I got married and got so much flak for it. A lot of “wow, I didn’t expect you to change your name” and “why would you do that? It’s 2014/you’re not property/that’s so old fashioned”.

Uh, I did it because I fucking wanted to. He’s got a cool last name, I have no attachment to mine (which btw, is my dad’s, not my mom’s, soooo) , and I just felt like it???? If you don’t want to change yours fucking dont???

So now, my husband is interviewing for jobs right, so we’ll most likely move cross country. So Im getting stuff like “you give up too much for his career” and “I would never do that because I deserve to have a good job too” or whatever and “okay but women worked hard for education and work that you’ve benefited from”.

Okay, first of all we’re married. Do youse guys not understand how healthy relationships work??? There is give and take and a thing called compromise and , ya know, communication. If you do it right then you’re both happy with the decisions being made. Second, why are you trying to convince me that I’m wrong in how I feel about work/career. My goals are different than yours. I don’t have to find fulfillment in the same things as you.

Someone fucking said to me “oh, I wouldn’t do that because housework should be split and I shouldnt have to do everything” when I said I cooked dinner every night for my husband. No, you shouldn’t, but did you ever think maybe I do it because I want to? I like cooking, it makes me feel better, and I like being able to make other people happy with my food. It makes me feel good.

Ok, you could never do such and such that I do and we’re living in the future now. Then don’t. You don’t have to if you don’t want to. That’s the whole point. That there are options available for you to do what you want to, without being forced into a role.

This weird judgement that I get from other women because I’m not “feminist enough” or fauxminist is fucking weird. And there is a very weird undercurrent with me being a Muslim women and non Muslim women thinking my husband forces me to do certain things that I’m not even going to get into. Never outright stated, usually, but if you are muslimah then you probably know what I’m talking about.
